The Roaches & The Boot

The Roaches & The Boot is an original and emphatically Australian Dark Comedy, set on a sketchy construction site in Sydney. Its story follows four distinctly disenfranchised characters as they clash, coalesce, erupt and betray over the course of a graveyard shift that takes an unprecedentedly drastic turn, when one of them decides to kick their social hierarchy in the teeth.

This bold new play witnesses downtrodden Australians scratching and clawing at one another for a sense of ownership over their own lives, in order to confront its audiences with the fact that selfish and animalistic people are a byproduct of hunger. Ultimately urging us to employ compassion within an unforgiving economy, that relentlessly disempowers the already disadvantaged.
