The insane and radical true story of a small town in Spain A town under the oppressive regime of a ruthless commander, who crushes the men and rapes the women; until one young woman decides – no more...

An eternal reminder to the rich and powerful that when the sheep bind together, the wolf should cower in fear. Even under the pain of torture – the town of Fuente Ovejuna will bow no more.

In 2021, your friends at Dream Plane are visiting a richly fierce classic that sits at the bedrock of Spanish Theatre, but this is no dusty old renaissance play… This is a raw and real story that put the peasants on stage front and centre, gave a voice to their anger and created one of the fiercest unsung heroines of classic literature; it has since been a rally for revolution in the centuries that followed.

In a colourful and exciting new vision that is sure to make the academics squirm in their graves, audiences in Sydney will get to experience Fuente Ovejuna! on stage through ritualistic storytelling with Masks, Magic, Puppets, Devised Performance and Live Music.

The fire’s starting to burn, see you with your torches…
